Space

From space and nothingness there is a place to breathe, a place for creativity to sprout. How can we get to a place of nothingness in such a busy world? For me I consciously connect with it, through meditation (twice a day) and through stopping and being in the moment and being aware of where I am, without thinking.

In art work, space itself is as important as the materials, words, musical notes that it lies between. Without space it would all merge into a blurring mess.

Time for connection with space is a foundation for everything. It’s a beautiful rest, as well as a realisation that we are nothing, very minuscule in the universe. We are mostly made of nothing: all of the atoms that everything is made from are 99.9999999999996% empty space. A connection with the nothingness is a connection with ourselves.

From this ground base of nothingness, ideas can spring forth in ways in which we are not conscious. A swirling pool infinite of creativity and so off we go…..
